this course, and I am to suggest that His Excellency the

Governor be requested to communicate with the Commodore,

H.M.Dockyard, Hong Kong, with a view to the inclusion

of this additional dredging in any contract that may

be placed.

I am to observe further that these proposals

are made subject to Treasury sanction being obtained

to the expenditure and such sanction will be sought

by this Department in due course.
